We moved in on November 28th 2008 after 11 months of HELL in a collapsing housing market !
Currently abiding in the "project" are Clare (me), Sam(Hubby), B (7 yr old), E(6 yr old) and The Bear(2 yrold )
The house is only 20 years old but has been sadly neglected during that time and scarily boasts all the original features ! The only room that is virtually done is the kitchen which was newly fitted a couple of years ago so the only work needed in there is a bit of glossing. There was also two sinks in there which was not only bizarre but completely unnecessary so one has been removed and a new piece of worktop put in.
The rest of the house needs the following:
- Downstairs WC currently is blue. Needs white wc and sink, re-tiling and woodowork glossing
- Hall / Stairs / Landing redecorating - gloss all wood which is currently dark wood stain.
- Bathroom - new suite and re-tile
- En-suite - new toilet and sink and re-tile. Install shower.
- Landscape garden.
- Lounge - currently a lounge / diner which needs splitting into two.
- Plaster the exposed brick "feature walls" in lounge and dining room.
- Remove fireplace and install new fire
- New Boiler
- New windows all through
The house is completely fine to live in so no major time deadlines - although the colour of the entire house does cause migraines !
Previous owners "decorated" in order to sell but believe me you have NEVER seen anything like it unless you have allowed small children to emulsion or gloss ? There is emulsion all over the ceiling and then huge patches not done at all !
